WiFi capable Nikon cameras

Since version 2.5.2.0 WIA-Loader can directly access Nikon Z cameras that are connected via WiFi to the same network as the computer WIA-Loader runs on. Pictures can then be transferred and the camera can be controlled as if it were connected via a USB cable. For the connection to be established, the following requirements have to be met:

• The camera has to be paired once with Nikon's 'Wireless Transmission Utility'. WTU should be deactivated afterwards!
• The camera has to be brought onto the WiFi network via the 'Connect to computer' function
• At least one image has to be selected for transmission on the camera via the i-button. A single image is enough - you can still access all other images afterwards
• WIA-Loader has to be the paid version (either a Store license or your own license key)
• In WIA-Loader's settings, 'Include PTP/IP capable cameras' has to be enabled

This should theoretically work with all Nikon Z cameras as well as other Nikon cameras that have WiFi capability. So far it has only been tested with a Nikon Z6.

The WiFi connection (PTP/IP) has become noticeably more stable in recent versions: dropped connections are now detected more reliably and the connection is automatically re-established, without having to manually reselect the camera. The frame rate of the live view has also been improved.

In theory this should even work with cameras from other manufacturers, as long as they support the PTP/IP protocol.
